The European Language Certificates at TANDEM Hamburg
telc Deutsch B1
In order to be able to cope with everyday life in Germany, you need German language skills at level B1. For naturalisation in Germany, the Zertifikat Deutsch / telc Deutsch B1 is recognised proof of sufficient language skills.
telc B1 at a glance
- Examination fee for external participants: € 190.00
- Examination fee for participants in our intensive and evening course: € 180.00
- Unless otherwise stated, the exam takes place on Fridays and Saturdays at TANDEM Hamburg. The written part starts at 1:15 p.m. on the first day of the exam. The oral examination takes place in the morning on the following day.
- The written part takes approx. 150 minutes without a break, the oral part lasts 15 minutes (plus 20 minutes preparation)

The small print: cancelling your exam
If you cancel before the registration deadline, we will refund the examination fee minus a processing fee of € 50.00. A later cancellation is not possible. Exception: If you fall ill on the day of the exam, please inform us immediately by email to info@tandem-hamburg.de and submit a medical certificate within 3 days. In this case, we will refund the examination fee minus a processing fee of € 50.00.
After the exam: collecting your exam result
After approx. 4-6 weeks you can collect your exam results from us - please check our website (see above) to see if they have arrived.
For data protection reasons, we do not give information by telephone as to whether an examination has been passed or not.
You must collect your test result from us in person and bring your ID with you. If you cannot collect your test result in person, please send us a stamped addressed A4 envelope stamped and addressed A4 envelope (or bring it with you to the exam), and we will send it to you by post. If you would like someone to collect your test result for you, please write a Letter of Authorosation for that person.
