About TANDEM Hamburg

TANDEM Hamburg has been a recognised institute of further education in Hamburg since 1985. We are well known:

Here the students learn in a small group with a maximum of 10 per class, supported by modern teaching materials and methods. Our German language course starts at your level. Our motto «More than language learning» is especially true regarding our language and educational travel projects as well as our special classes with a cultural program.

We have been approved by the quality control system «Weiterbildung Hamburg», and carry the seal of quality in further education. Our exceptional standards are monitored and assessed regularly. Furthermore, we are certified by CSN (Centrala studiestödsnämden) in Sweden for students who are planning on studying German as a foreign language abroad.

TANDEM Hamburg - The Team

Management

Henning Prüß is your contact for in-house language training, co-operations and international contacts. If you are an agent, a possible co-operation partner for projects, a language school in Germany or abroad, he'll be happy to supply you with any information you may seek. Welcome to TANDEM Hamburg.

Claudia Kohl is in charge of the school's internal management. She is responsible for schedules, courses, finances, and advertising. If you would like a special course, for your special needs, one that isn't mentioned here or in our brochures, just tell us what you're planning, and we're sure we'll find a solution.

Office

In the office you will meet Gesa Wiegrefe, your contact for students, teachers and clients. Gesa understands best how the school works, she will explain the programme, our fees, and she is in charge of finding accommodation for our foreign students.

She is supported by Melanie Wolfgart, who also cares for our customers and business partners here and on the phone. On top of that, Melanie is in charge of students' accommodation, and she is our mediator of TANDEM language exchange partnerships.

Language Department

Georgia Ravenborg co-ordinates our German classes, she creates and collects materials and holds regular teachers' meetings with our staff. Georgia is also responsible for the TestDaF examinations at TANDEM Hamburg.

Corrie Gerhard is the other part of this tandem. She is also responsible for methods and materials, and she is concerned with the production of an innovative language course in our Socrates project 'Accessible Language Learning'.

Location

TANDEM Hamburg is conveniently located in the west of Hamburg, in Altona. It is noticeable to this day that Hamburg's "sister" used to be a town on her own until 1937. Today Altona is the favoured place to work and live in for a colorful mixture of people from all corners of the world. Many young people live there.
