• Keep on Running – Hamburg Marathon 26th April 2009

On 26th April 2009, the 24th Hamburg Marathon is taking place with numerous runners, walkers, hand-cyclers and wheelchair drivers, both professionals and amateur. Fascinated fans will motivate the athletes from start at the Reeperbahn to the finishing line in Glacischaussee, a 4.2195km-long course.

The marathon feeling already begins two days beforehand. On 24th and 25th April 2009, you can visit the Marathon & Running fair at Hamburg’s trade fair grounds, where leading brands will present their newest running sport items, such as running shoes, sports clothing, inline skates and kickboards to dietary supplements, and more! On Saturday, 25th April 2009, children and youth between the ages 6 and 17 can be part of ‘The Tenth’.
And while you’re here: Take a German Course at TANDEM Hamburg!

  • Sportive TANDEM Hamburg

‘Staffellauf’ – that’s ‘relay in German. At this year’s annual Staffellauf in Stadtpark, organised by one of Hamburg’s tabloids, the ‘Morgenpost’, TANDEM Hamburg took part, i.e. five fit runners represented the school well. This time we came in 187th place, for next year we are aiming at a two-digit result…

  • Canoeing on the Alster

The Alster is known to be a big lake right in the middle of Hamburg’s inner city; however, this is really part of the river Alster flowing through Hamburg. A group of German students can be seen here exploring the head waters of the Alster by canoe. ‘You feel miles away from the town’, one of them remarks, and it’s only 20 minutes by bus from Hamburg’s main train station. A nice day out, none of us got wet (apart from a few drops of rain hitting us towards the latter part of the trip), and everybody enjoyed coffes and cake afterwards.
