Hi everyone,
Easter is coming up, and the weather forecast is just great! Any plans yet?
If you are into nature, and would love to leave the city for a while, why not jump on the regional train early Saturday morning and take a ride to one of the nearby natural preserves? There is so much to discover ‘out there’!
Here is a couple of recommendations:

(Catch the train from Hamburg to Ratzeburg at 8:30 on Saturday morning and you will be in the ‘outback’ in merely an hour!)

(Certainly a ‘must’ for all bike enthusiasts! You could e. g. catch a train to Lauenburg early in the morning and follow the River Elbe all the way to the beautiful city of Hitzacker. Among other things, Hitzacker is famous for its beautiful architecture. A peaceful place, spectacular views on the Elbe and good accommodation facilities)

“Das Alte Land”. A lovely fruit orchard right outside the city! If you are wondering where all the delicious fruits come from that you find on Hamburg’s local markets – go and discover “Das Alte Land” on a comfy bike trip with your friends! You can start your trip with a ride through the old Elbtunnel and then make your way from Finkenwerder to the beautiful little city of Stade. You will discover beautiful farm houses, lovely little villages and prosperous fruit orchards. Above all, you will feel the sweet fragrance of cherry and apple blossoms in the air – and with a bit of luck, you might even come across a stork or two!)
Wish you all a wonderful Easter holiday – and Enjoy!
Best regards
Judith:-)
