• Participation and Registration
• Participation in our courses is open to everybody interested in education. Please fill in and send us / e-mail us the enrolment sheet or hand it in at our office, at your agent's or the local TANDEM School. After our confirmation we will ask you for a first rate of payment.
• Courses abroad: The foreign language school is the organiser of the course. We pass your enrolment on to our partner school immediately upon receipt. After the written booking confirmation we ask for a first rate of payment. In general, the remainder is to be paid in the host country's currency on location after arrival.
• Course Dates and Duration
1. The beginning and duration of the course, as well as the timetable and information on the course location are described in the course brochure(s). The minimum duration for intensive courses is one week; classes may be joined after a placement test and a free trial session.
2. Programme dates and fees transmitted to us by our partner schools may be subject to change. There is no tuition on public holidays.
• Terms of payment
1. It is the student’s duty to pay the fees in time. For all classes all fees must be paid by the second course day.
2. For long-term courses (of 3 months or longer), payment in instalments may be arranged.
3. Course fees must be paid even if the student does not attend classes, attends irregularly or discontinues attendance.

• Non-implementation
In case there are not enough registrations for any one class, or implementation of the course is not possible for reasons beyond TANDEM Hamburg's responsibility, the school is not obliged to run the course. For this case TANDEM Hamburg reserves the right to cancel the course or to decrease the number of lessons with the students' consent. All registered students will be informed of non-implementation in good time.
• Cancellation
It is possible to cancel at any time before the course starts. Cancellation must be made in writing.
If the cancellation order arrives not under 6 weeks before the course is to start, a fee for administrative costs of EUR 50.00 must be paid. We will refund the amount already paid exceeding EUR 50.00.
For a cancellation at a later date there will be adequate compensation fees unless there are bookings of substitute students.
If a student discontinues to participate in a language course for reasons TANDEM Hamburg e.V. cannot be held responsible for, fees or parts thereof will not be refunded, and fees still open will have to be paid.
In addition the following applies to:
• Single Tuition: If a student cancels 24 hours or under prior to the agreed course date, the cancelled session will have to be paid for. Cancellations have to be made at the office or by telephone during our office hours.
• Courses abroad: The participation terms of the school running the course apply. By way of precaution we point out that in many cases 10 to 20% of the total course fees may be withheld upon cancellation. For cases of cancellation within 4 weeks of the course start or cases of non-attendance higher fees, at most the full course fees, will be charged.
• Termination
Long-term students (in courses with a duration of over three months) have the right to terminate their course towards the end of a course section, at least every six months, with an adequate period of notice. This does not affect statutory cancellation rights in exceptional circumstances.
• Data Security
1. With the students’ consent, their data are processed electronically.
2. Personal data will only be collected and used for administrative requirements and will at no time be passed on to third parties.
